You can also reserve your campsite or cabin today  through our online booking system!

Lake Hemet reservation and information number is (951) 659-2680. But if you get a busy signal … send us an email and we’ll do our best to get back to you same day!

Lake Hemet Lake Levels The Highest in Over a Decade!

We’re happy to announce that Lake Hemet is at full capacity for the first time in over a decade. Many campsites are now right at the waters edge delivering a lakefront camping experience that allows our guests to fish right from their campsites! Fresh caught trout and s’mores anyone? Whether you area first time guest to the lake or a longtime visitor … you will not want to miss the 2019 season at Lake Hemet!

 Trout Stocking at Lake Hemet!

We have done two stockings so far this spring at Lake Hemet there will be more stocking throughout the spring and early summer. The most recent stocking (March 12, 2019 – see photo below) included some very big Rainbow Trout that appeared to be in the 5-7  pound range! This is obviously going to be a great season for camping and fishing at Lake Hemet so make plans to visit and enjoy the benefits of abundant water and fish at Lake Hemet!

Lake Hemet is surrounded by the majestic beauty of the San Jacinto Mountains, in Mountain Center, near the mountain town of Idyllwild. The scenery is breathtaking no matter which direction you look. Tall pines, manzanita trees, sage, and giant oaks abound.

Lake Hemet is one of the most popular spots in Southern California for camping and fishing. The recent additions of the Soaring Pines Cafe serving delicious food and Splashing Eagle Waterpark has made Lake Hemet the vacation spot to be during the spring and summer months.

Remember to pack a camera and binoculars, and keep a watchful eye, as majestic eagles, hawks, and other wildlife are often seen soaring throughout the forest and campground. Come and enjoy camping, fishing, boating and the breath-taking scenery all year round.

Road Closure Notice: Currently Highway 74 from Hemet to Mountain Center and Highway 243 from Banning is closed to through traffic. Access to Idyllwild is available from Highway 74 from the Palm Desert and Highway 371 from Anza.

Fun Fact: Halle Berry said she celebrated her birthday here. The whole Kardashian and Jenner clan filmed an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians at Lake Hemet. Classic shows such as Airwolf and Bonanza also had episodes filmed at Lake Hemet.

Note: Swimming is allowed in designated areas only.  The speed limit is 10mph for both boating and driving in the campground. No fireworks allowed. Fireworks are not permitted.

handiHandicapped restrooms and showers are available in Camps 1, 2, and 4. Upon request, special assistance can be given to handicapped persons.
